Remy Bustani

I am a student graduating from SCAD in June 2017 with a BFA in Sequential Art and a minor in Concept Art for games. Since I was in elementary school I wanted to be a "video game artist." I chose SCAD and Sequential art to pursue drawing and design which tells a story. Through SCAD, I found a wide breadth of applications for narrative based drawing, but nothing captured me quite like the expanding medium of Virtual Reality.

VR first meaningfully entered my life with the news of the Oculus Rift Kickstarter in 2012. I finally got my hands on my own head mounted display with the Samsung Gear VR in 2015, at which point I showed the device to everyone I knew. Since the release of the HTC Vive, I have literally experienced hundreds of VR games and films; made my Vive portable in order to bring it into classes; participated and volunteered in VR Showcases; worked on 4 separate VR projects; participated in a game jam in which I helped create a VR game from scratch; shifted my Senior project class to further explore VR; participated in a VR collaborative class through SCAD; helped create a VR club at SCAD by representing the sequential art department; and become utterly obsessed with virtual reality, augmented reality, and future technologies.

My current goal is to find a studio where I can work with creators with far more experience than myself, in order to develop my skills as an artist and a storyteller while participating in the innovation of VR experiences. I want to wear many hats, work long hours, and be a part of a project with a team of passionate designers.
